LIBRARY

The Savina Monastery with its rich library occupies a prominent place in Serbian culture. Here, besides printed books, there is a rich collection of old manuscripts from the period from the 14th to the 18th centuries. There are gospels, octoichs, servants, bonds, akatisnici, canonics and irmologies, tipik and fodder, chronograph, exegetical and omillistic writings of holy fathers, chambers, especially apocryphal chambers and prayer rooms, prayer books etc.The most important is the Savina fodder, one of the transcripts of the Legislation of St. Sava from the 16th century. In its content this transcript is more complete and richer than other transcriptions.
